In this 1984 video, General Idea cleverly takes on the mass media's focus on gossip, spectacle and celebrity instead of content in its treatment of art and artists. Using irony, parody, excerpts from television shows and their own performances, it ends with the wonderful exhortation: "When there is nothing to say, shut the fuck up!"
