This lyrical doc explores with sensitivity and breathtaking imagery the lives of three Mexicans who live, like many, on the edge of hope. The lives of a boxer, a fisherman and an ailing old woman are intertwined. Each prays to God to deliver him or her a specific miracle. Meanwhile, they struggle to survive. Ex-voto For Three Souls is a film about the unbelievable human capacity to resist, adapt and create.

Rated 1.0/5 Stars 1 2 3 4 5 bg#1 5:24 AM		The filmmaker seemed so earnest that I feel bad saying this but I found this film so boring - no cohesion, no context, no connection to the characters, just dull, dull, dull. The woman next to me said at the end "Is it finally over?" My first HotDocs screening was a total disappointment! More editing required! The one redeeming quality was watching the fisherman paddle - hes very deft at handling a boat.
